𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐧 𝐞𝐩𝐢𝐜 𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐞!🚴😊 Yes, today was the day two groups of 𝐜𝐲𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐬 (𝐡𝐨𝐛𝐛𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭) 𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐝 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲, one of the most scenic roads in Gran Canaria. 🤩 It all started 𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝟗:𝟏𝟓 𝐢𝐧 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐚 𝐝𝐞𝐥 𝐈𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐞𝐬 when 𝐜𝐲𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐬 were already gathering on the terrace for a 𝐜𝐮𝐩 𝐨𝐟 𝐜𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐞. Around 𝟗:𝟒𝟓, everyone was 𝐚𝐥𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐮𝐬, 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐏𝐮𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐞 𝐌𝐨𝐠𝐚𝐧. Yes, the GC500 is still closed between Taurito and Puerto de Mogan. 🤔So we decided to 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐬𝐡𝐮𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨𝐮𝐫. 🥳 Oh, even though we didn't mention it, between the coffee and the bus ride, the guides - Bart and Alessandro - held a small technical meeting, preparing everyone for what was to come. The Sport and the Hobby group both start around the same time. At different speeds though. What happens next? Well, the rest is history. 🌎🚴🏽‍♀️📍 COME RIDE WITH ME ~ GRAN CANARIA The details… 📍LOCATION Stayed in Maspalomas (quite touristy, but plenty of accommodation options and a good base for rides). I was asked if I would stay there again - and yes, on the outskirts. But I’d maybe take a b&b or smaller hotel. (It’s fab for families - plenty for kids, there are luxury retreats, b&b’s and adults only spots) 🚴🏽‍♀️ BIKES We hired bikes from the lovely freemotionbikecenter - who are super helpful and offered tours and guides aswell as routes. Riding specialized_uk and cannondaleroad bikes which were incredible (see GC highlight on my profile) ⛰️ROUTES You can find my routes if you search Pelohun on komoot - I’ve uploaded and added points of interest as well as the stops we made. I’ll also add Strava links to my GC highlight so they are saved there too.
